Appropriate categorization of objects is a crucial skill that needs to be developed at an early age, preferably during the pre-K and Kindergarten years. But, I believe the ability to compare and identify the same and different objects is a necessary pre-requisite for categorization. Hence, this printable pack is aimed towards encouraging the little minds to observe, compare, and identify the same object, while rejecting the ones that are different.
Over the years of working with my son, I have come to appreciate the same and different activities that require him to make this judgment in a set of objects that belong to the same category. Identifying an apple in a set of cars and dolls is relatively less challenging. I hope you too find it helpful that I have structured each set on a particular category and the sheet itself is based on the following themes - fruits, animals (and birds), food, and finally household objects. The difficulty level also follows the same sequence, fruits probably being the easiest and the household items the most difficult.
